I'm watching it - Advertisement Campaign

Probably you have seen around the big posters sponsoring the classic products of McDonalds. A pack of French fries or a Big Mac, and under the image, a Google search bar showing that their products are the most searched on the web. That is probably untrue, but from an advertisement point of view, it works: it is smart and quick.

However, looking at it from a cultural and social point of view, we think that it is actually absurd that when you type few letters on Google, the first suggestions that appear are words like French fries etc. Therefore, the question is: why do we not search for words such as refugees, climate change, and human rights? Why are we always so distracted that we do not look anymore to the reality around us. Great part of the population even denies climate change!

We decided to use the brilliant idea of the McDonalds advertisement to transform this capitalistic message into a social message.

China Pollution

Of course, it is not only China. However, in recent years, the most powerful of the eastern countries has become the symbol of pollution. China has become famous for the streets of its cities covered with smog and fog. The emissions of toxic elements, carbon emissions, exhaust emissions etc… have become recently a matter of debate of all those meetings organised by the most powerful countries in the world. However, the solution, or at least an improvement, is far to be carried out, especially because of the opposition of some countries, such as China.

Furthermore, no one takes a stance towards the intensive livestock, which produces the majority of the world environmental impact. So, not only it is a problem of changing our energetic and transport systems, but also of reducing meat consumption in order to transform factory farming. We think that it is time we change and got informed about pollution and environmental problems. Instead of searching some futile objects on Google, search for scientific articles on pollution and take a stand.

Forest Fragmentation

The definition of forest fragmentation is “ the breaking of large, contiguous, forested areas into smaller pieces of forest; typically these pieces are separated by roads, agriculture, utility corridors, subdivisions, or other human development”. (http://northernwoodlands.org/articles/article/forest-fragmentation) It is also called habitat fragmentation and it leads straight towards ecosystem decay. Furthermore, the reduction of the habitat leads to the extinction of some animal species, to the desertification of some areas of the world, thus leaving entire populations without sustenance and as a result the population has to migrate. And for what? To build up more factories, more industrial farming spaces, more hydroelectric reserves. If we continue with these techniques, we continue to lose land and animals.

Struggle

And then there is struggle. The struggle of the animals to survive in their ecosystem, which has been destroyed by humans; the struggle of human beings who everyday sit by while their land is taken away. The struggle of those who live under the bombs. The struggle of those who want a better life for the entire world population.

The struggle against the fascists that deny all of the problems listed above.
