The Watcher on tour…

A great art project was held this last weekend in Gemona del Friuli (Italy) to remember the disastrous earthquake which hit Friuli Venezia Giulia in 1976. The name of the project, organized by the association Via della Narrazione, is Crack e Frammenti, and many many artists had been invited to participate to the live exhibition and to live a trace of their art, poetry, philosophers...

The Watcher participated to this performance in their first exhibition as a collective. Despite bad weather and rain we made it! The idea was to remember the people who, in the aftermath of the disaster, helped to build up again houses, buildings and streets through illustrations and the art of writing. Actually, Dupont designed and projected a mountain wreck by a monster, an ogre (in Friui language the earthquake is called ‘orcolat’ namely an ogre) with houses and people on the bottom, all hit by the ogre’s fury. Inside the mountain, The Bookish Explorer wrote the story of those days and in the black background some verses and messages of hope and peace.

This artwork demonstrates that it is possible to create something powerful and beautiful together, blending different styles and creative attitudes. The impressive illustrations and colours merge perfectly with poetry and stories creating a sounding piece of art. We believe in creativity and in its power to change things and to struck the chords inside the heart. We believe in collaboration and participation in every aspect of life, and art is an essential part of our life.

Share the creativity, share the messages through different forms of expression which can mix together to become one.
